Fourth day in Oulu!!!

Today we chose an Interesting way to spend our morning, we decided to see the famous Oulu museum! At the museum we saw many amazing works of art, made to explain the story of the Sami people and after that we got lunch at the Oulu-opisto school. On our way we to the school we stopped to see an atelier and the owner was really sweet. Everything we saw at the exhibition was so interesting and we were really happy to learn something new about the culture of this beautiful country!!❤️❤️

In the afternoon we went to school, and there we've finished the last things to do together on the Erasmus platforms. After that they gave us our diplomas for the project. Then we went to a photos exhibition that was very particular. After we said goodbye to out greek friends because they had to return to Greece.

3rd day in Oulu

 

Today,our journey embarked on the train to reach the destination of Rovaniemi.When we arrived,we explored the center of the city and then caught the bus heading to the village

 of Santa Claus (Lapland). Upon arriving, we were greeted by the extraordinary atmospheric scenery and we wandered through the village as we bought many souvenirs. Also, we went on a husky ride on a sleigh and we got to pet them;their fur was so thick and soft! In addition, we wrote a letter to Santa, and then we returned to Rovaniemi. There, our next stop was the Arktikum museum where we learnt many interesting facts about the animals in the arctic circle and the way of life there. When we returned to Oulu, we had dinner together (Italians) and headed back to our guest house. It was really a memorable experience today and a once in a lifetime opportunity and we are truly blessed to have experienced it!

 

Arktikum Museum!!🐧🦭

 

This afternoon, after lunch, we went to the Arktikum Museum.🦭 It was awesome and we loved It. There were many very interesting things: starting from the different types of flakes, up to the different types of sounds made by Arctic animals.🦦🦅 We really enjoyed the video where you could see photos of the different Arctic seasons and especially the photos of the Northern Lights.🌌 After that we went to see the river that was very beautiful. In the end we did a rush to take the train e we return to Oulu.

Second day in Finland!!

Today we woke up quite early to go to one of the most famous cities here in finland, Rovaniemi!! 🤩🤩 we were all really excited and we went to

the train station with perfect timing. During the travel we saw many beautiful landscapes with woods, a river and a little bit of snow on the sides of the street. When we arrived at our destination we started doing a quick tour of the city and the first thing we went to see was the library. It was so beautiful and full of really interesting books written in many languages. We were all really happy to see the dedication that they put into creating che child section, it was so cute with many different story books, beautiful illustrations and many stuffed animals 🥹🥹❤️ 

We're all looking forward to learn more about this wonderful land with many varieties of natural habitat!! 🤍🤍

2nd day in Oulu

The day started with us meeting our Erasmus friends and heading towards the school. We were stunned by the facilities and the length of the structure. Mikko gave a presentation about the Finnish education system. By lunch time, we had Oulu’s traditional potatoes. After a quick break walking in the streets of Oulu we returned to the school and met and met the principal. Moving on, we attended the school’s awesome musical concert and later we had dinner in an Italian restaurant with our best buddies. We can’t wait to explore the beauty of Rovaniemi!!

This evening we would have loved to see the Northern Lights🌌 but we weren't so lucky to see them...we wish we will see them before the end of the journey🤞🏻🤞🏻

This morning we went to the school Oulu-opisto, on the way to get there we met some cute little robots🥰🤩

1st day in Oulu

 We arrived in Oulu by train from Helsinki early in the morning. Then we reached our guest house, which is located in an island. We had traditional Finnish breakfast, then we went to rest. In the afternoon we visited the mall called “Valkea” and met our Italian friends. We had dinner together and started getting to know each other. As we were walking back to our house with the Italians,we admired the beautiful sunset and when the sun sets, nobody knows what tomorrow shall bring... let it be the day of our dreams!!

2nd day in Helsinki

After we had breakfast, we started exploring a different part of the city. We went to “Oodi Central Library”, a unique place downtown where people can read, write, design, talk, print, and generally spend their day creatively. We really loved it and marveled its architecture. Later, we took the boat to “Suomenlinna” island and visited the fortress,which was built in 1748. After our short trip, we walked through the “Market Square” street and tasted the local cuisine. Lastly, we went shopping in the centre of the city. 

We can’t wait to explore Oulu and get to know the Finnish hosts and our Italian friends!

1st day in Finland, Helsinki

Our journey started when we took the bus from Trikala to the airport of  “Eleftherios Venizelos” on Thursday night. Early in the morning, we arrived happily in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. We checked in the hotel “Finn”, which is in the heart of the city.

We then visited the famous Cathedrals and the “senate square”; it was mesmerising! We stopped to get a cup of coffee and then we headed to the port where we were amazed by the number of people sunbathing!

Last but not least, we had dinner at a wonderful place. We are looking forward to the next day of our trip.
